Grandma and Grandpa Harden. These were William Wesley Bowen Harden's adoptive parents. Grandpa was William Albert Harden born August 01, 1875 in Waverly,
Iowa, died February 16, 1955 in a rest home in Deerwood, Crow Wing County, Minnesota.
Grandma was Mary Ellen Eibes born September 19, 1881 in Benton County, Minnesota and
died May 21, 1938 in Brainerd Minnesota. They were married January 27, 1903 in
Gilmanton, Minnesota. Wesley was adopted by them in September of 1904.
Grandpa drove horse teams and did carpentry work. In the years when Wesley was a teenager the Hardens often managed farms in North Dakota. Grandma died of cancer at age 57.
The man on
the horse in William Wesley Bowen Harden at about age 16. The horse was named
Chaser. The favorite horse of Wesley.
This was William Wesley Bowen at age 14. Looks like the flat land of
Dakota behind him.
The little guy in the dress is William Wesley Bowen Harden as a 2 or three year old
